ABOUT
Erasable Color is a fresh and vibrant musical presence in Northern Arizona. Comprised of pianist Jess Ryan, saxophonist Liza Stegall, and percussionists Drew Worden and Owen Davis, this quartet specializes in the energetic and dynamic performance of contemporary music. Erasable Color is committed to playing the music of established modern composers as well as the music of a younger, emerging generation. In 2011, five composers from around the country were commissioned to write new works for Erasable Color's unique and versatile instrumentation. Through performances, master classes, commissions of new works, and community outreach, Erasable Color engages in the world of music as it is today in hopes of fostering an appreciation for contemporary music in their community. With over 40 years of combined musical experience, the members of Erasable Color have traveled to France, Germany, Austria, Belgium, China, Poland, and South Africa. Individually, their musical talents have led to performances, master classes and collaborations with artists such as SŌ Percussion, The Tetraphonics Quartet, The Mana Quartet, Fifth House Ensemble, Dan Deacon, Grey McMurray, Paul Lansky, Steve Mackey, Martin Schmidt (MATMOS), Vicki Ray, Jeffrey Swann, Jens Marggraf and Frank Rosaly. |
